With Eid programming set to flood television channels and YouTube platforms across Bangladesh, audiences are once again preparing for a packed line-up of special dramas, many of which are already generating strong anticipation ahead of release.
As in previous years, broadcasters are expected to air more than a hundred Eid dramas. Among them, several star pairings and returning collaborations are attracting particular attention from viewers.
One of the most discussed on-screen pairs remains Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Naznin Nahar Niha, who gained popularity after the Valentine’s Day drama ‘Mon-Duari’ last year. Since then, the duo have appeared together in productions including ‘Meghbalika’ and ‘Ghran’. This Eid, audience expectations are high for ‘Ochena Ami’, directed by Tanim Rahman Anshu, and ‘Mayapakhi’, directed by Zakaria Soukhin. The story and screenplay for ‘Ochena Ami’ were written by Apurba himself.
Actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan is once again set to dominate the Eid drama schedule with the highest number of appearances. Several of his productions alongside Tanzim Saiyara Totini are due to air during the festive season. Among the most talked about are ‘Kajol Chokher Meye’, directed by Zakaria Soukhin, and ‘Tor Mayay’, directed by Rubel Hasan. The pair will also appear together in ‘Tomader Golpo 2’ and ‘Tomar Amar Prem’.
Meanwhile, Mushfiq R Farhan and Keya Payel continue to remain one of the small screen’s most popular pairings. Having already worked together in more than 200 dramas, the duo have become known for their chemistry in both romantic and comedy productions. This Eid, viewers will see them in dramas including ‘Dub’, ‘Anarkali’, ‘Buker Bhitor Agun’ and ‘Ichhe Dana’.
Another familiar pairing returning this Eid is Niloy Alamgir and Himi, whose collaborations have also crossed the 200-drama mark. Their upcoming Eid line-up includes ‘Mimangsha’, ‘’, ‘Betal Prem’ and ‘Tin Chakar Shongsar’.
Actor Arsh Khan has recently been paired opposite Sunerah Binte Kamal following the end of his previous on-screen collaborations with Tasnuva Tisha and Tanjia Brishty. Rumours surrounding the pair’s personal relationship have also drawn public curiosity. This Eid, they are expected to appear together in several productions, including ‘Butterfly Effect’ and ‘Vul Naki Prem’.
At the same time, Khayrul Basar has continued experimenting with new pairings after his earlier collaborations with Sadia Ayman. More recently, he has developed an on-screen partnership with Sadnima Binte Noman. Following the success of last Eid’s ‘Erar Poddo’, the two will return together in ‘Jin O Porir Shongsar’, ‘Sorol Jotilota’, ‘MonDubi’ and ‘Erar Poddo 2’.
