The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the dates for the 99th and 100th Oscars, marking the final two years of the ceremony’s air on ABC before moving to YouTube.
The 99th Oscars will take place on Sunday, 14 March 2027, followed by the 100th ceremony on Sunday, March 5, 2028. Both will be broadcast live at 7:00 am ET (4:00 pm BST) from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood to over 200 territories worldwide.
From 2029, the Oscars will relocate to the Peacock Theater, where the ceremony will remain through 2039. ABC’s first-quarter 2027 schedule also includes the Grammy Awards on 7 February and Super Bowl LXI on February 14.
The 2026 Oscars season shows strong promise with contenders such as Ryan Gosling’s space dramedy ‘Project Hail Mary’, Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Three’ and Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s ‘Digger’ starring Tom Cruise. A host for the upcoming ceremonies has not yet been announced.
Key dates for the 2026-2027 Oscars season include: eligibility period from January 1 to December 31, final submission deadline on November 12, preliminary voting from December 7 to 11, shortlist announcement on December 15, nominations announced on January 21, 2027, and final voting from February 25 to March 4, 2027.
