Under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 57 people in drives carried out in different areas of the capital, Dhaka.
The information was disclosed in a press release sent on Thursday by DMP Media and Public Relations Deputy Commissioner of Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
Of the 57 arrestees, Paltan Model Police Station arrested 26 people, Jatrabari Police Station six, Banani Police Station five, Bangshal Police Station three, Kalabagan Police Station one, Rupnagar Police Station seven and Mugda Police Station nine.
Paltan Model Police Station said that police conducted day-long drives in various crime-prone areas under the station on Wednesday as part of Operation Devil Hunt and arrested 26 people. The arrestees are Mosammat Ruby Akter (37), Parvin (43), Israat Jahan (28), Karuna (28), Md Musa Mia (28), Md Raisul Islam Russell (35), Md Shariful Kadir Mamun (48), Mahfuza Khatun (36), Md Ratan (25), Md Al Amin (28), Md Suman Kazi (36), Md Rajib alias Hridoy alias Manik alias Ashik (28), Md Rafiqul (26), Md Habibullah (37), Md Rabbi (26), Md Ali (44), Md Sujon (32), Md Sipon (21), Monir (35), Nazmul Hossain (30), Jafar Hawladar (25), Md Jalal Bepari (52), Md Mohsin Mia (18), Md Mamun (48), Md Safiullah alias Mofiz (45) and Zubayer Rahman (25).
Meanwhile, Jatrabari Police Station said police arrested six people on Wednesday during day-long drives in various crime-prone areas under the station as part of Operation Devil Hunt. The arrestees are Md Russell (29), Purna Sarkar (27), Saddam Hossain Molla (34), Md Ibrahim Sarkar (52), Md Antamir (21) and Md Foyez Ullah (31).
On the same day, Banani Police Station conducted drives in different crime-prone areas and arrested five people involved in regular cases, old cases and various crimes. The arrestees are Md Hasan Mia (28), Md Sanowar (40), Md Jahangir Alam (47), Abdus Samad (28) and Mohammad Kamruzzaman (40).
According to Bangshal Police Station, three people were arrested on the same day as part of Operation Devil Hunt. They were arrested from different crime-prone areas. The arrestees are Jahangir Hossain (54), Mahmud Hossain (51) and Md Palash Hawladar (24).
Kalabagan Police Station sources said police arrested one person during drives in various crime-prone areas under the station. The arrestee is Md Afruddin Bhuiyan (24).
On the same day, Rupnagar Police Station conducted drives in different crime-prone areas and arrested seven people involved in regular cases, old cases and various crimes. The arrestees are Md Russell Matubbar (21), Md Manik Sheikh (35), Md Farid (31), Md Jaj Mia (37), Md Sohel Kalu (27), Md Shamim Mia (25) and Md Enayet Fakir (36).
Also on the same day, Mugda Police Station conducted drives in various crime-prone areas and arrested nine people involved in regular cases, old cases and various crimes. The arrestees are Gulzar (32), Al-Amin (27), Md Hridoy Mia (22), Md Hridoy Mia (20), Md Shafiqul Islam (40), Md Alamgir (35), Md Alamgir Haque alias Sujon (30), Md Jamal Hossain (35) and Md Akkas Ali (46).
