In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Social Welfare stated that the “Family Card” is a priority programme of the current government, with the government committed to its implementation.
According to the release, family cards will be issued in the name of the female head of each family, regardless of religion, caste, or creed, and will be provided free of cost through government initiative.
It goes on state: “Any financial transaction through brokers or any other means to obtain this family card is illegal. Everyone is requested to inform law enforcement agencies if anyone is involved in such illegal activities.”
The press release was signed by the public relations officer of the Ministry of Social Welfare.
