NRBC Bank has released its first Sustainability Report 2024 titled “Inclusive Innovation, Green Tomorrow,” marking a new step in the bank’s journey toward sustainability and social responsibility.
The report, prepared in line with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, focuses on the bank’s efforts to promote green financing, ethical governance and community development, according to a press release.
It was unveiled on Wednesday at the bank’s head office by Managing Director and CEO Md Touhidul Alam Khan.
Deputy Managing Director and CFO Harunur Rashid, Deputy Managing Director and COO Mohammad Abdul Qaium Khan and other committee members were also present, according to a press release.
“The report reflects our commitment to financial stability, environmental responsibility and social progress,” said
NRBC Bank Managing Director and CEO Md Touhidul Alam Khan. He said the bank will continue to expand financing in renewable energy, green industries and community-focused sectors.
In 2024, NRBC Bank invested in renewable energy, energy-efficient technologies, sustainable waste management, green buildings and climate-smart agriculture. These projects have supported farmers, improved food security and strengthened the country’s sustainability goals.
The report notes that sustainability is not just about compliance but about innovation and long-term value. The bank said responsible financing and transparency help businesses reduce costs while creating lasting impact.
It also reassures depositors and shareholders that their funds are used in ethical, environmentally sound sectors that contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
