No admission test will be conducted for class-I from the 2027 academic year, with the lottery-based admission system for first-grade students set to remain in place.
The decision was announced in a notice signed by Senior Information Officer Abdullah Shibli Sadik on Thursday.
Under the new system, students seeking admission to class-I in primary and secondary schools will be selected through a lottery process, replacing the existing admission test system for first-grade enrolment.
However, admission tests will continue for students seeking entry into other grades at primary and secondary schools, the notice said.
Meanwhile, the results of the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on 10 August, according to the announcement.
