Popular television actor Niloy Alamgir has criticised those making jokes and trolling the newly introduced Pink Buses designated for women in Dhaka.
In a Facebook post, the actor described people who mock the women-only buses as “low-class” and questioned who should be making fun of the service.
“Making fun of or trolling the Pink Bus is very normal,” Niloy wrote.
He then asked, “But who will do it?” and answered, “The bus helpers and drivers.”
Clarifying that he was not referring to all drivers and helpers, Niloy said, “Not all drivers and helpers. Very low-class, uneducated and dirty-minded helpers and drivers.”
Referring to the people trolling the Pink Bus on Facebook, he added, “Consider them to be those low-class helpers and drivers.”
The actor’s comments have sparked fresh discussion on social media, with his remarks drawing attention amid the ongoing debate and trolling surrounding the women-only bus service.
