Production in garment and industrial factories across Narayanganj has not yet fully resumed following the conclusion of Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
Industrial hubs, including Fatullah BSCIC industrial city and surrounding areas, are expected to return to their usual activity from 6 June, when workers and employees are scheduled to rejoin their workplaces.
Mohammad Hatem, president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), stated that garment factories under the association have declared a holiday until 5 June.
He confirmed that these factories will reopen and commence production on 6 June.
Despite the general closure, some factories have already opened to handle pending shipments. Several dyeing and finishing, knitting, and embroidery factories have also resumed operations.
