National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has pledged that his party will ensure the participation of people from all religions and communities in the 13th national election slated for February 2026.
“Our election manifesto is dedicated to guaranteeing equal dignity and rights for all communities and faiths,” he said after a meeting with the National Puja Celebration Committee at Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital on Sunday.
Extending greetings on the occasion of Durga Puja, Nahid stated, “The NCP envisions a harmonious and inclusive Bangladesh that reflects the unity of all religions, ethnicities, and opinions. This is the Bangladesh we aspired to build after the July movement, and we want to move forward based on that spirit of unity.”
Calling upon the government to ensure nationwide security so that puja celebrations can be observed peacefully, he added, “We stand with our brothers and sisters of the Sanatan community and extend our warmest greetings. The NCP is committed to building an inclusive Bangladesh.”
The NCP convener further urged the government to address the demands and concerns of the Hindu community.
“It is our responsibility to make sure that people of all faiths, including Hindus, do not feel unsafe in this country,” Nahid stressed.
