Chairman of the National Citizen Party’s (NCP) Election Conduct Committee, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiya, has said that the time has come to reconsider whether the party will participate in the upcoming national parliamentary election.
He made this remark at a press conference held at the party’s office in Bangla Motor, Dhaka, on Sunday night.
Alleging bias within the Election Commission, Asif Mahmud said, the EC has lost the confidence that a political party or the people should have in it for holding a fair election.
“If the election process continues to move forward like this, then we express apprehension that the EC will not be able to implement a fair election in Bangladesh,” he said.
