The National Citizen Party (NCP) has permanently expelled its Moulvibazar district joint convener Sanaul Islam Suez for violating party discipline, according to a statement issued by the district committee on Saturday.

The committee said Suez had taken part in the election campaign of another political party and shared internal information, prompting a review that found the allegations to be true.

“Such activities amount to a breach of party discipline and a violation of the constitution. As the allegations brought against Suez were proven during the committee’s review, a decision has been taken to expel him permanently,” district committee convener Khaled Hasan said.

Following the expulsion, Suez will no longer be allowed to hold any position within the National Citizen Party, participate in organisational activities, use the party’s identity or designation, or remain directly or indirectly involved in any committee or subcommittee, the statement added.

The decision takes immediate effect to protect party interests and maintain discipline, district committee member secretary Ruhul Amin said, adding that a copy of the expulsion order has already been sent to the disciplinary committee.
