NCC Bank disburses Tk2.05b SME loans on MSME Day

NCC Bank has disbursed sanction letters for SME loans worth Tk2.05 billion at an SME customer gathering and open credit disbursement programme held on the occasion of International MSME (Micro, Small, Medium and Cottage Industries) Day 2026, the bank said in a press release.

The programme was held with Managing Director (current charge) M Khorshed Alam in the chair, bringing together senior executives of NCC Bank, SME entrepreneurs and clients, in a move aimed at expanding financing support for the CMSME sector in Bangladesh.

Deputy Managing Directors Md Zakir Anam and Md Habibur Rahman attended the event, along with EVP and Head of Sustainable and Women’s Banking Nighat Momtaz, SVP and Head of SME Sharif Mohammad Mohsin, SVP and Head of Dhaka Outskirt Region Md Jasim Uddin, heads of head office divisions, branch managers, and SME entrepreneurs and clients.

Speaking at the programme, Deputy Managing Director Md Zakir Anam said the CMSME sector plays a vital role in economic growth, employment creation and inclusive development, adding that Bangladesh Bank has introduced refinancing, pre-financing and credit guarantee schemes to ease access to finance for entrepreneurs. He said NCC Bank is expanding CMSME financing and will continue increasing investment in the sector.

Deputy Managing Director Md Habibur Rahman said CMSME loans account for around 24% of the bank’s total loan portfolio, with a target to raise this to 30% in the near future. He added that the bank is strengthening financing and capacity-building efforts through Bangladesh Bank schemes, SME Foundation, PKSF and other development partners, including initiatives for women entrepreneurs.

Managing Director (current charge) M Khorshed Alam said CMSME development is essential for sustainable economic growth and employment generation, adding that NCC Bank remains committed to delivering need-based financial and digital services for entrepreneurs, said in a press release.

He said the bank has introduced four specialised SME products, including NCC Commercial Building Loan, NCC Commercial Vehicle Loan, NCC Supply Chain Finance and NCC SME Business Account. He also highlighted digital services including the NCC Always app, SME Visa multi-currency debit card, QR code payments and chatbot services aimed at improving accessibility.

He instructed relevant officials to further simplify and accelerate the loan approval process to better serve SME clients.
