The Premier Bank PLC held its 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dhaka on 30 June 2026 at 11am in a hybrid format at Golf Garden, where shareholders approved key financial statements and governance reports, the bank said in a press release.
The meeting, chaired by Sponsor Shareholder and Chairman Dr Arifur Rahman, brought together board members, senior executives and shareholders to review performance and outline strategic priorities for future growth.
The AGM was attended by Md Forkan Hossain, Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee; Syed Faridul Islam, Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee; Md Sazzad Hossain, Director and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee; Sheikh Morshed Jahan, Director and Professor at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka; M Nurul Alam FCS, Director and Chairman of Premier Bank Securities Limited; Managing Director Md Monzur Mofiz; and Company Secretary Mohammad Akram Hossain FCS, along with shareholders and officials.
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by prayers, after which the Company Secretary presented the meeting notice before shareholders. Chairman Dr Arifur Rahman outlined the bank’s performance, key achievements and strategic direction.
He said, “By bringing an end to the irregularities of the past, we have firmly placed Premier Bank on a path of integrity and transparency. Our commitment is to protect the interests of our depositors and, through restructuring and sound corporate governance, position the Bank among the top five banks in the country. We believe this unwavering commitment to integrity and prudent leadership will continue to take us ‘Onward & Upward.’”
Managing Director Md Monzur Mofiz said the bank is strengthening its institution through integrity, transparency and good governance while safeguarding depositor confidence and creating long-term value for shareholders.
Shareholders approved the bank’s audited financial statements, the board of directors’ report and other agenda items, and participated in an interactive question-and-answer session.
The meeting noted that since its inception under the “Service First” philosophy, Premier Bank has become one of Bangladesh’s leading private commercial banks, operating 136 branches, 67 sub-branches, 130 ATMs and 214 agent banking outlets nationwide. The bank said it continues to use modern technology and innovative banking solutions to enhance customer service and deliver sustainable value to stakeholders.
