Navana Group Vice Chairman Sajedul Islam Shubhra was granted bail hours after his arrest in connection with a case.
Three other accused arrested in the same case also secured bail, sources said.
Sajedul was arrested on Wednesday morning following an arrest warrant issued against him earlier in the case, said Mahbubur Rahman, officer‑in‑charge of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station.
He had been hiding in a building in Banani. Around 11pm on Tuesday, a police team attempted to enter the building to arrest him but failed.
He did not leave the house that night and made various attempts to avoid arrest. Following his arrest, Tejgaon Industrial police took him to court.
On 3 May, in a contempt of court case, a court issued arrest warrants against eight top officials, including four from the owner side of Navana Group.
