Police have arrested Navana Group’s Vice Chairman Sajedul Islam Shubhra from a house in the capital’s Banani.
The arrest was made on Wednesday morning as an arrest warrant had been issued against him in a case, said Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman.
Sajedul had been hiding in a building in Banani. At around 11pm on Tuesday, a police team attempted to enter the building to arrest him but failed.
He did not leave the house that night and made various attempts to avoid arrest. However, following the arrest, Tejgaon industrial police are taking him to court.
On 3 May, in a contempt of court case, a court issued arrest warrants against eight top officials, including four from the owner side of Navana Group.
