The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has made special arrangements on holidays to facilitate the submission of tax documents by candidates interested in contesting the upcoming election.
The NBR made the disclosure in a press release sent to the media on Thursday.
The release stated that submitting an income tax return is mandatory for candidates participating in the 13th parliamentary election, and the deadline for submitting nomination papers is 29 December.
To make it easier for prospective candidates to file their income tax returns online, help desks or assistance booths have been set up with the support of the E-Tax Management Unit, an initiative of the NBR.
These help desks will provide the necessary services related to online return filing.
The release further stated that on Friday (26 December), online returns can be filed from 2pm to 5pm at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes of the E-Tax Management Unit, located on the seventh floor of the Engineers Institution, Bangladesh (IEB) building in the capital.
Additionally, on the following day, Saturday, relevant tax officers will provide services at the same location from 9am to 5pm. Furthermore, this service will also be available during office hours on the upcoming 28 and 29 December.
