The Nationalist ICT Forum (NICTF) has reconstituted its 101-member executive committee, approving a new constitution and opening membership to ICT professionals as part of efforts to strengthen the organisation and expand its engagement with Bangladesh’s technology sector.
The decisions were taken at an emergency general meeting held at the auditorium of Club Notre Damians Bangladesh Limited in Banani on Monday.
Members unanimously approved the forum’s constitution following discussions on its organisational activities, governance structure and future strategic direction. The forum said the move is intended to establish a more structured and accountable organisational framework.
The meeting also reorganised the executive committee by redistributing responsibilities among existing office bearers and inducting new members.
Under the reconstituted committee, Professor Shah J Mia was appointed acting president, Rowshan Kamal James general secretary, Reyad Hasnain joint secretary and Engineer Mohammad Jewel organisational secretary.
The forum also unveiled its full 101-member executive committee and approved the opening of general membership registration, allowing ICT professionals, entrepreneurs, technologists and other stakeholders to join the organisation.
Speakers at the meeting reiterated the forum’s commitment to supporting the development of Bangladesh’s information and communication technology sector, representing the interests of ICT professionals, participating in policy discussions and promoting a technology-driven economy.
The meeting concluded with a call for members to strengthen organisational unity and collaborate in implementing the forum’s future programmes.
