The national team fitness training camp will start on February 1. The Bangladesh Cricket Board took the decision at a meeting of its cricket operations department on Wednesday. A board source said the camp may continue until February 9.

Bangladesh’s absence from the World Cup has left the players without matches. There is no competitive cricket at the moment for Liton Kumar Das and others. The board wants to keep the players active and help them recover from the disappointment of missing the World Cup. That is why the camp has been planned.

The camp will include players from the Test, ODI and T20 squads. Other cricketers linked to the national team will also be considered. The national selection panel is preparing the final list for the conditioning camp.

After the camp ends, players will get a short break to vote in the national parliamentary election. Once the election is over, competitive cricket is expected to return.
