The 20th National Furniture Fair 2025, the largest event for the furniture industry in Bangladesh, kicked off on Tuesday in the city under the slogan, “My country, my hope — let’s decorate homes with local furniture.”
The five-day fair, running until October 18, is being held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), spanning Gulnoksha Hall, Pushpoguchcho Hall, and Rajdarshan Hall.
Organized by the Bangladesh Furniture Industries Owners’ Association (BFIOA), this year’s exhibition is larger in scale compared to previous editions. The fair was inaugurated by Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin, who attended the opening event as the chief guest at ICCB’s Rajdarshan Hall.
In his speech, Bashir Uddin highlighted the sector’s growth potential and urged entrepreneurs to increase investment in the furniture industry. He emphasized the importance of leveraging national opportunities and resources to secure a place in the global furniture market.
BFIOA Chairman Selim H Rahman, who presided over the inaugural ceremony, shared that the local furniture industry now meets 100 percent of domestic demand and exports a significant volume of products overseas. The primary goal of this year’s fair is to boost the growth of the local industry and expand its export markets.
Special guests at the inauguration included Mohammad Hasan Arif, Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), and Dr KM Aktaruzzaman, President of the Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association.
A total of 48 leading furniture companies are participating in the fair, showcasing their latest designs and products across 278 stalls. Notable brands featured at the event include Akhtar, Hatil, Brothers, Nadia, Ayoto, Omega, JMG, Navana, Athenas, Partex, Regal, and Legacy.
In addition to traditional furniture, the fair also displays home accessories and decorative items. The event is open to the public, with free entry, and visitors can explore the fair daily from 10:00am to 9:00pm.
