Singer Nazmun Munira Nancy often finds herself in the spotlight over various personal and public issues. This time, she has drawn attention over the referendum debate. While she had previously hinted at her opposition to a ‘yes’ vote, she has now openly urged people to vote ‘no’, making her position clear.

On Wednesday, 11 February, Nancy shared a photo on her Facebook page showing the words ‘yes’ and ‘no’ written side by side, with ‘yes’ crossed out. Shortly after the post went live, it sparked widespread discussion across social media.

The comment section reflected mixed reactions from fans and followers. Some expressed support for her stance, while others criticised it. One commenter wrote, “Leader says yes, leader says no.” Another referenced a line from one of Nancy’s popular songs, writing, “Bahir says ‘no’, Bhartar says ‘yes’.” The singer did not respond to the remarks.

Earlier, Nancy had also raised questions about the referendum in a separate post. She wrote, “Organise a referendum. Decide for yourself whether the vote will be ‘yes’ or ‘no’. But who is this showy referendum for?”

That post, too, generated debate. Her latest statement has once again fuelled discussion in the political arena.
