The trial over the attack on Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai home has begun, with a staff nurse identifying the accused in court and recounting the events of the night the actor was injured, writes Hindustan Times.
The nurse, who has worked for Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s family for more than five years, identified Mohammed Shariful as the intruder during her testimony.
She is the complainant and the first witness in the case.
According to her account, she woke around 2am on the night of 15–16 January 2025 and saw a man moving towards the bed of the couple’s younger son, Jeh.
When she tried to pick up the child, the intruder allegedly attacked her with a blade and demanded ₹1 crore.
The commotion alerted Jeh’s nanny and brought Saif and Kareena out of their rooms. The nurse told the court that Saif confronted the intruder and managed to overpower him briefly before the family and staff took shelter in another room. The intruder allegedly escaped through the main door.
Saif suffered serious injuries and underwent hospital treatment. The trial began after the court rejected the accused’s second attempt to plead guilty.
The allegations will now be examined through witness testimony and other evidence.
