In the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Nahid Rana and Parvez Hossain Emon, who remained unsold in the initial auction, have now found teams in the second round. Nahid, with a base price of 60 lacs PKR, returns to his former franchise Peshawar Zalmi, while Lahore Qalandars have signed left-handed opener Emon at the same price on Wednesday. The auction took place in Lahore.
Although Nahid was part of Peshawar’s squad last season, he did not play any matches and returned to Bangladesh midway due to heightened tensions with India. Rishad Hossain, who was with Lahore, also returned home and will not play for Lahore this season as the defending champions released him before the auction.
Rishad generated significant interest during the auction, with Rawalpindi winning a bidding war against Karachi Kings to sign him for 3 crore PKR. The team, which is replacing Multan Sultans, has not yet finalized its name.
Most notably, Mustafizur Rahman was the first Bangladeshi player to secure a team, signing directly with Lahore Qalandars for 6.2 crore PKR.
A total of 50 Bangladeshi players entered this year’s auction. So far, only Rishad, Nahid, and Emon have been picked, while the rest remain unsold. Bangladesh T20 captain Litton Das is still unsold, along with Shakib al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shoriful Islam, Towhid Hridoy, Shamiim Hossain Patowary, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Nasum Ahmed.
