Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana suffered a suspected side strain during the second T20I against Zimbabwe on Friday, raising concerns ahead of the final match of the series.
Nahid appeared to pick up the injury while bowling. He left the field after feeling discomfort and did not complete his spell.
Bangladesh team physio Bayjedul Islam said the injury looks like a side strain, although the exact extent is not yet known.
“I think, it is a side strain,” Bayjedul said in an official video message.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has not yet decided whether Nahid will need a scan. Team officials will continue to monitor his condition before making that decision.
There is no official timeline for his recovery at this stage.
The possible injury comes as a concern for Bangladesh, with Nahid becoming an important part of the pace attack in recent months. The 22-year-old has impressed with his speed and wicket taking ability across formats.
The BCB is expected to provide another update after Nahid undergoes further assessment by the team’s medical staff.
