Bangladesh left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will play for Vancouver Kings in the second edition of the Canada Super Sixty. The 10-over franchise tournament will run from September 29 to October 4.
The Bangladesh star could also be joined by former national captain Mahmudullah Riyad. Sources indicate Vancouver Kings are interested in signing the experienced all-rounder, raising the prospect of the long-time Bangladesh teammates sharing the same dressing room once again.
Mustafizur and Mahmudullah have represented Bangladesh together across all three international formats. They have also featured in several franchise leagues around the world during their careers.
Vancouver Kings have assembled a strong squad for the tournament. England all-rounder Moeen Ali, fast bowler Chris Jordan and Nepal captain Dipendra Singh Airee are among the overseas stars already confirmed.
Former Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur will take charge of the franchise.
The Canada Super Sixty returns for its second season with a fast-paced 10-over format designed to attract leading international players. The competition will be played over six days and is expected to feature several established names from around the cricketing world.
If Mahmudullah’s move is completed, Bangladesh will have two experienced internationals representing Vancouver Kings in this year’s tournament.
