The body of a college student, who had been missing for three days, was found in a pond near her residence in Boda Upazila, Panchagarh, on Friday.
The deceased was Dhothri Rani, 20, a first-year student at Sakoya Degree College.
She had gone missing on Tuesday afternoon after leaving home to attend a private tutoring session at Sakoya Bazar.
When she failed to return, her family began searching for her. Unable to locate her, her father filed a missing persons report with Boda Police Station.
On Friday morning, locals noticed her body floating in a pond close to her home. Being informed, police recovered the body and conducted a preliminary investigation at the scene.
Boda Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Malik confirmed that Rani’s body has been sent to Panchagarh Modern District Hospital for an autopsy.
The cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is received. Legal action is being taken, he stated.
