Midland Bank PLC, in collaboration with Communic-IBA of Jahangirnagar University (JU), organised a seminar to promote financial literacy among students and future professionals at the university’s Senate Hall on Monday.

The seminar was designed to raise awareness on crucial topics like financial inclusion, sustainable economic development, and access to financial services. The aim was to equip students with the knowledge necessary to make informed financial decisions, helping them navigate their personal and professional financial futures, according to a media release.

The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. Ireen Akther, director of JU IBA. The event was inaugurated with a speech by Professor Dr M Mahfuzur Rahman, academic pro vice-chancellor. Professor Dr Sohel Ahmed, pro vice-chancellor of administration, also addressed the gathering.

The event featured Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, who attended as the chief guest and delivered an impactful speech.

Midland Bank Managing Director & CEO Md Ahsan-uz Zaman graced the seminar as the special guest and keynote speaker, providing an insightful presentation on the importance of financial literacy.
The event saw participation from distinguished guests, faculty members, students of the university and key figures from the bank.

To empower the younger generation through financial education in future, Midland Bank also set up an information booth at the university campus from 9 to 13 November. The booth provides students and faculty members with information on banking products and services, fostering a deeper understanding of financial offerings available in the market.

This initiative highlights Midland Bank’s ongoing efforts to increase financial literacy and promote financial inclusion among the youth of Bangladesh.
