Midland Bank Family provided financial assistance of Tk10 lakh to Sajida Foundation, a charitable organisation, to support the Korail Slum Fire Relief efforts.
Of the total amount, Tk5 lakh was disbursed from the Bank’s Islami Banking Fund under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, reflecting the Bank’s ongoing commitment to social welfare, according to a press release.
The remaining Tk5 lakh was contributed by Midland Bank Family members.
Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO of Midland Bank, handed over the cheques to Muhymin Chowdhury, Director, Impact Investments and Partnerships of SAJIDA Foundation.
The handover ceremony took place at the Bank’s Head Office on Tuesday.
The financial support underscores Midland Bank Family’s dedication to social responsibility and various charitable initiatives aimed at benefiting the wider community.
The programme was attended by key representatives from both organisations, including Farhin Ahmed Twinkle, Coordinator, Partnership & Fundraising of Sajida Foundation; Md Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution & Chief Bancassurance Officer; Didarul Islam, CFO; Md Bajlur Rahman Khan, Head of CRM and Head of Sustainable Finance Unit of Midland Bank.
