Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has finally resumed full operation of the metrorail service along the entire route from Uttara to Motijheel.
The service reopened at 11am on Monday, following a temporary suspension. The metrorail authorities have expressed sincere regret for the inconvenience caused.
After reinstalling a bearing pad that had detached from a metrorail pillar at Farmgate earlier, officials conducted a trial run of the train this morning. Regular services resumed soon after the successful test.
On Sunday afternoon, around 12:30pm, a bearing pad came loose and fell from a metrorail pillar in the Farmgate area, leaving a young man dead. Following the tragic incident, metrorail operations were temporarily halted.
