BRAC Bank PLC has reported a profit of Tk 1,536 crore for the first nine months of the current calendar year – thereby exceeding its total earnings for 2024 – buoyed by higher investment and interest income.
The figure represents a 39 percent year-on-year increase, compared with Tk 1,432 crore in 2024, according to a price-sensitive disclosure on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
The company’s earnings per share stood at Tk 6.09 during the January–September period, up from Tk 4.36 in the same period a year ago.
Its consolidated net operating cash flow per share rose to Tk 63.03, compared with Tk 44.01 a year earlier, reflecting strong deposit mobilisation despite moderate loan growth.
The net asset value per share also improved, supported by higher profits and revaluation gains on government securities.
As of September 30, the bank’s sponsors and directors own 46.17 percent of its shares while foreign investors hold 36.16 percent, institutions 11.60 percent, and the general public 6.07 percent.
