Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced that metro rail will operate additional trains on the day of the 13th parliamentary election.

Managing Director Faruque Ahmed told Times of Bangladesh on Thursday that although the government has declared 11 and 12 February as public holidays, metro rail services will run as usual to ensure residents can reach polling centres and move across the city without hindrance.

To ensure service continuity during the election period, DMTCL has cancelled all leave for officials and employees involved in train operations, maintenance, and security from 8 February until further notice. This directive was issued through an order signed by DMTCL Director (Administration) AKM Khairul Alam.
