Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has unveiled a special schedule for the MRT Line-6, widely known as the Metro Rail, for the holy month of Ramadan.
The official statement which mentions the special schedule was issued by AKM Khairul Alam, director (Administration) of DMTCL.
The revised timetable will take effect from the first day of Ramadan, 1447 Hijri, expected on 18 or 19 February 2026, and remain in force throughout the month until the night before Eid-ul-Fitr.
Under the new schedule, services from Uttara North to Motijheel will begin at 6:30am and run until 9:30pm, with train intervals varying throughout the day.
During peak hours, trains will run as frequently as every six and a half minutes, while intervals during early morning and evening will extend up to 20 minutes.
For services from Motijheel to Uttara North, operations will start at 7:15am and continue until 10:10pm. Headways will range from six and a half minutes at peak periods to 15 minutes for late-night services.
In line with Iftar practices, passengers are permitted to carry up to 250 millilitres of water in a transparent bottle. Consuming food inside trains, station concourses or platforms remains strictly prohibited.
DMTCL officials urged commuters to prevent water spillage and dispose of bottles only in designated dustbins.
The authority also confirmed that weekend services, including Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays, will follow the existing timetable without change.
