The devil chose Dolce & Gabbana in Milan on Saturday, where Oscar-winner Meryl Streep appeared in character as Miranda Priestly during filming for the long-anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
Streep, dressed in Priestly’s trademark oversized sunglasses and a glossy black vinyl trench coat by Dolce & Gabbana, arrived at the brand’s theater under tight security. She was joined by Stanley Tucci, reprising his role as the sharp-tongued art director Nigel.
Inside, the two characters were filmed intently studying the runway, their gazes rising and falling with each model, while the soundtrack featured Italian icon Patty Pravo.
Dolce & Gabbana confirmed through its press office that the sequence is being shot for the upcoming film, which has set several scenes in Milan.
The choice of venue nods to a famous moment from the original movie, when Anne Hathaway’s character clumsily asked: “Can you please spell ‘Gabbana’?”
For the Spring-Summer 2026 show, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented a collection that reimagined nightwear as high fashion: silk pajamas embellished with rhinestones, embroidered detailing, and sensual black lace and sheer lingerie.
Audiences in cinemas will see both the collection and Streep’s Miranda Priestly – every bit as imperious as fans remember – woven together in the sequel’s storyline.
