Bangladeshi band Meghdol is set to share the stage with Indian group Chandrabindoo for the first time at a joint concert in Kolkata on September 5, marking a significant cross-border collaboration in Bengali music.
The announcement was made via Meghdol’s official social media platforms, where a promotional poster described the event as ‘Megh meets the Moon’. The concert is being organised by Talent Wall, with venue details yet to be confirmed.
Meghdol frontman Shibu Kumar Shil said the collaboration brings together two bands shaped by a shared cultural and musical heritage. He noted that Chandrabindoo has been a long-standing influence on the group, adding that performing alongside them is a major milestone in Meghdol’s journey.
Shil also indicated that additional shows in West Bengal are being planned as part of the band’s upcoming tour, with further announcements expected soon.
Beyond the concert, Meghdol is working on new music, including a track for the film ‘Roid’, directed by band member Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, which is expected to release next month.
The band is also preparing to release the remaining songs from their third album ‘Aluminium er Dana’, including ‘Carnival’, ‘Bagh’ and ‘Tare Kothay Khuje Pai’.
Meghdol recently performed at a solo concert in Dhaka during Pohela Baishakh and is planning a series of shows across Bangladesh in the coming months.
