May International Trade Services has acquired PMJ Asset Management, expanding its presence in Bangladesh’s capital market and adding fund management, corporate portfolio management and corporate advisory services to its platform.

The deal combines May International’s financial advisory business with PMJ Asset Management’s capital-market operations, according to a press release.

The move could help broaden professional fund-management and corporate-advisory services at a time when Bangladesh’s capital market is seeking stronger institutional participation and more diversified financial services.
