Renowned social media influencers Masha Islam, Jessia Islam, and Tasfia Fatema Tasfi joined forces with JAAGO Foundation on Sunday to mark International Day of the Girl Child 2025, urging communities across Bangladesh to support girls’ education.
The trio appeared in heartfelt video messages shared on their official social media accounts, calling on individuals and organisations to take collective responsibility in empowering girls through education. Their participation highlights JAAGO Foundation’s ongoing efforts, particularly through its “Sponsor a Child” program, which enables marginalized children, especially girls, to access free, quality education.
Since its inception 18 years ago, JAAGO Foundation has been at the forefront of breaking educational barriers for children from underserved communities. The organisation currently supports over 5,000 students nationwide, with girls making up 52 per cent of the enrolment. JAAGO has long emphasised girls’ education as a crucial step toward broader social development and equality.
The United Nations first observed International Day of the Girl Child in 2011 to raise awareness of the challenges girls face, including child marriage, gender-based violence, limited access to education, and discrimination. The day underscores the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for girls to learn, lead, and thrive, while empowering them to shape the future.
Through their advocacy, Masha, Jessia, and Tasfi aim to inspire widespread support for initiatives that give every girl the chance to pursue her dreams. JAAGO Foundation, in turn, remains committed to nurturing the potential of every child so she can grow, lead, and create meaningful change in society.
