In a three-way collision involving a pickup van, a CNG auto-rickshaw, and a motorcycle on Jasim Uddin Road in Uttara, a young man named Fuad Hasan Hridoy (26) was killed. He was the rider of the motorcycle.
The accident occurred near the flyover on Jasim Uddin Road around 6:30am on Tuesday. After pedestrians brought Hridoy to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, doctors declared him dead around 7:45am.
Rajib Hossain, who brought the young man to the hospital, said that he himself had gone to Jasim Uddin Road early in the morning intending to go to Mymensingh. At that time, he saw the pickup van and CNG auto-rickshaw on the island near the flyover. The motorcycle rider was lying injured on the road. He was then brought to Dhaka Medical College in another auto-rickshaw.
However, after examination, the doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, Tamjidul Islam, the cousin of the deceased Hridoy, said their home is in Khas Naoga Islampur village in Naogaon Sadar upazila. Hridoy used to live in Tongi, Gazipur. He worked for a private company. He had come to Uttara from Tongi on his motorcycle on Monday morning. They learned about the accident from pedestrians at night.
Mohammad Faruk, the in-charge (inspector) of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the death.
