A pickup van driver was killed in a collision with a bus in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar district early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Lokman Mia, 20, a resident of the Lalbagh area in Sreemangal upazila.
Nishat Nawal Mumu of Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex confirmed the death.
The incident took place around 5am in the Satgaon Chowmohna area on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway, leaving the pickup van completely crushed.
Fire Service personnel rescued Lokman from the wreckage and took him to Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex around 5:30am, where the doctors declared him dead.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined and an investigation is underway.
