Police recovered the body of an auto-rickshaw driver from a roadside in Patharghata, Barguna, early Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mijanur Rahman, 45, a resident of ward number 2 of Patharghata municipality.
According to the victim’s relatives, Mijanur went to sleep on Friday night after having dinner at home. Following the Fajr prayer on Saturday morning, local residents spotted his body lying beside the Water Development Board road in the municipality and immediately alerted the police.
The victim’s brother, Abul Kalam, said Mijanur had been sleeping in his room after dinner, but the family found the door open in the morning.
Md Enamul Haq, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patharghata Police Station, confirmed that the body has been sent to the Barguna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Police have launched an investigation to uncover the mystery behind the death.
