A man died after falling while allegedly attempting to climb a three-storey building to commit theft in Dhaka’s Kamrangirchar area.
The deceased was identified as Hridoy, 26, of Hilochia village in Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Kamrangirchar Police Station Sub-inspector (SI) Md Rakib Hossain confirmed the death.
“Detailed investigation is underway. We initially suspect that he was attempting to commit a theft,” he said.
Hridoy’s elder brother, Md Kawsar, said his brother had a three-month-old son. He worked as an auto-rickshaw driver and was addicted to drugs.
Hridoy left home on Saturday afternoon and did not return, Kawsar also said.
