Actress and model Malaika Arora has spoken out about the scrutiny women face over divorce and relationships, highlighting a striking double standard in how men and women are judged.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Arora reflected on her own experiences following her divorce from actor-producer Arbaaz Khan. “A man moves on, gets a divorce, marries someone half his age and everyone says, ‘Wow, what a man!’” she said. “But when a woman does it, she is questioned: ‘Why would she do that? Doesn’t she have sense?’ These stereotypes need to end.”
Malaika’s personal life has long been in the public eye. She and Arbaaz Khan were married for nearly two decades, divorcing in 2017, and share a son, Arhaan. She later dated actor Arjun Kapoor, with the couple recently confirming their split.
Meanwhile, Arbaaz remarried in December 2023 to makeup artist Sshura Khan and they welcomed a daughter, Sipaara, in October 2025.
