The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a reduction in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for the month of July.
According to a BERC notice issued on Thursday afternoon, the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been lowered by Tk357, bringing the new cost to Tk1,528.
The revised rates are set to take effect from 6pm.
Alongside the reduction in cylinder prices, the cost of Autogas – used primarily in vehicles – has also been decreased. The price has been slashed from Tk86.93 to Tk70.40 per litre.
This latest adjustment follows a previous price cut on 2 June, when the BERC reduced the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder from Tk1,940 to Tk1,885.
At that time, the price of Autogas was lowered to Tk86.93 from its earlier rate of Tk89.50 per litre.
