The Local Education and Economic Development Organization (LEEDO) organised “Winter Pitha Utshab 2026” on Thursday, January 15 with unprivileged street children at their Peace Home premises.
Street children ran stalls selling homemade pitha, cakes and waffles. Certificates and sewing machines were distributed to children and adolescents who completed vocational training under the organisation’s Kamalapur Vocational Trade Programme.
Certificates were also given to children who completed ICT training at Peace Home. Farhad Hossain, Executive Director of LEEDO said funds raised from the festival will support children’s education and development.
Guests at the event stressed the need to ensure children’s rights, protection and access to education. They also praised the organisation for providing children with a safe shelter where they can find proper direction in life.
