An ambitious 8-kilometer beautification project now stretches from Majampur Gate to the Jhenaidah and Ishwardi-bound roads, completely redefining the city’s aesthetic with vibrant flowers and ornamental trees lining the highway. What was once a concrete jungle has now been turned into a serene, nature-filled haven.
This project, led by the volunteer organisation Clean Kushtia-Green Kushtia, is not just about enhancing the city’s beauty; it’s a demonstration of the power of community, sustainability, and reclaiming public spaces for the collective good.
The efforts behind this initiative go far beyond beautification, highlighting how a concerted community effort can have a lasting positive impact on both the environment and the city’s overall quality of life. More than 900 volunteers from the organisation have dedicated their time and efforts to maintaining the trees and cleaning up plastic waste, playing an integral role in keeping Kushtia green.
