Kulsum Akter Moni has added another medal to Bangladesh’s tally by claiming bronze in the compound women’s individual event at the Asian Archery Championship.
At the Army Stadium, Moni narrowly lost 146–145 to India’s Preetika Pradeep in the semifinals, missing a spot in the final. She bounced back in the bronze medal match, edging out Chinese Taipei’s C-Yu Chen 145–144 in a thrilling final set.
Earlier in the championship, India’s Jyothi Surekha Vennam won gold in the same event, with Pradeep taking silver. Bangladesh had already secured silver in the compound mixed team event, where Bannya Akter and Himu Bachar lost 153–151 to India’s Dipshikha and Abhishek Verma.
Moni’s bronze gives Bangladesh two medals in the home-hosted Asian Archery Championship.
