Khulna Division celebrated their first win in the NCL T20 on 28 September at the outer ground of Sylhet Stadium. They had lost one match and another was abandoned. In their third game, they beat Dhaka Metro with strong batting performances from Soumya Sarkar, Anamul Haque Bijoy, and Afif Hossain Dhrubo.
Khulna batted first. They scored 171 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Anamul Haque Bijoy led the scoring with 49 runs off 26 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. Soumya Sarkar added 45 runs from 33 balls, striking four fours and three sixes.
Soumya and Imranuzzaman shared a 71-run opening partnership. Imran scored 36 runs off 30 balls. Afif Hossain Dhrubo remained not out with 33 runs from 25 balls. For Dhaka Metro, Abu Haider Rony took two wickets but gave away many runs.
Chasing 172, Dhaka Metro lost Mahfizul Islam Robin early. Captain Naim Sheikh and Anisul Islam Imon tried to steady the innings. Naim scored 33 off 23 balls, and Imon made 28 off 23. After their dismissals, the team lost momentum. Shadman Islam and Shamsur Rahman Shuvo added 17 off 12 and 22 off 20 balls, but it was not enough.
In the final over, Abu Hider Rony scored 10 runs off five balls. Dhaka Metro were all out for 149 in 19.1 overs. Khulna won the match by 22 runs. Mitunjay Chowdhury took three wickets for Khulna.
