The official journey of Redoan Rony’s ‘Domm’ began with much fanfare at its launch event, where the names of the cast and crew were announced, confirming that Pooja Cherry would star alongside Chanchal Chowdhury and Afran Nisho. A few days later, the entire Domm team flew to Kazakhstan.
It had previously been announced that the film would be shot in three countries, including Bangladesh. In line with that plan, the team travelled to Kazakhstan, where they filmed for a week in temperatures of minus two degrees. After completing the shoot, the Domm team returned home on December 6.
Redoan said, “The shooting of the film began in Kazakhstan. We filmed in some remote locations. The weather there was quite harsh. With locations that suited the story and the necessary technical support, we managed to complete the shoot and return. Now it is time to shoot in Bangladesh.”
The experience of filming in Kazakhstan was not pleasant for anyone, something reflected in actor Chanchal Chowdhury’s comments. Even travelling to the country had been difficult for him.
He said, “I have never travelled such a long distance in my life. I was gasping after the transit and the long journey. The cold was intense, minus two. But even though it was minus two, it felt seven or eight degrees lower. I have never filmed in such harsh conditions before. Shooting Domm this time was a completely different experience.”
With the overseas schedule complete, shooting will soon begin in Bangladesh. When exactly will filming start in the country? When contacted, the Domm team said they had only just returned home and wanted a few days of rest before resuming. They were unable to give a specific date for restarting production.

It was announced in December 2023 that Redoan Rony would direct Domm, with Chanchal Chowdhury in the cast. Star actor Afran Nisho joined the project in July this year. Actress Pooja Cherry, who is acting in Domm, was introduced to Chanchal and Nisho on October 29. She arrived at the event in a palanquin, adding an extra touch of glamour.
Pooja said, “Joining Domm feels like a rebirth of my acting career. This script and character are a big challenge for me. When the audience watches the film, they will understand why I say that.”
Sharing how she joined the film, she said, “Producer Shahriar Shakil bhai called and said that Redwan Rony bhai would contact me. A few days later he called and told me about the audition. I was very interested because I wanted to work in Domm. After the audition I learnt that I was the finalist. I was so happy I stopped eating and drinking. Now we are rehearsing regularly and the whole journey feels wonderful.”
The screenwriters of the film are Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al Amin Hasan, Saifullah Riyad and Rabiul Alam. The film is being produced by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited and the OTT platform Chorki.
