Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad on Monday visited different tents of Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims in Mina, Mecca, to inquire about their overall condition and wellbeing.

During the visit, 5,000 packets of high-quality food were distributed among Bangladeshi pilgrims under the minister’s personal initiative.

Pilgrims were advised to drink water regularly amid the intense heat in Saudi Arabia. They were also urged not to remain under direct sunlight for long periods without protection and to avoid unnecessary walking during extreme temperatures.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs said it has been carrying out extensive awareness activities jointly with the Saudi authorities this year to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Hajj pilgrims.

Following instructions from the Saudi authorities, pilgrims began travelling to Mina on Sunday and are staying there overnight.

On Tuesday morning, the pilgrims will leave for the plains of Arafat, where the main ritual of Hajj will be performed.
