Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister (LGRD) Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said, “Instead of wasting time on the past, we should dedicate our time to the future. We should focus on how quickly we can move forward, how to transform the country into a prosperous economy, and how to strengthen democratic institutions. These are the matters we should pay attention to.”
He stated, “Everyone should do their respective jobs. The ACC is there to look into those who engage in corruption. We have never tolerated corruption, nor will we.”
Mirza Fakhrul made these remarks in response to a question from journalists after an exchange of views meeting with heads of government departments in Thakurgaon district on Saturday afternoon.
At that time, the LGRD minister said, “Among various issues, we are placing the highest emphasis on controlling drugs.”
Regarding the Bangladesh of the future, he said, “Food security systems will be ensured. Programmes for women will be launched. The biggest program of our prime minister, the Family Card, will be implemented quickly.”
Mirza Fakhrul further stated, “The heartfelt demand of the people of Thakurgaon is a medical college. Regarding this matter, an inspection team has already visited and stated that student admission activities will begin in 2027.”
Presided over by District Commissioner Ishrat Fazana, the exchange meeting was also attended by Thakurgaon-3 constituency Member of Parliament Jahidur Rahman, District BNP President Mirza Foysal Ameen, General Secretary Poygam Ali, and heads of all district departments.
