Jahangirnagar University (JU) students staged a protest rally on the campus on Friday, condemning the Israeli attack on the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla.

Speaking on the occasion, Jucsu Vice-President Abdur Rashid Jitu denounced Israel’s blockade of the flotilla carrying activists and journalists. He also said that Palestinians are dying from hunger and thirst, while women and children are being brutally killed.

Jucsu General Secretary Mazharul Islam said Israel has killed nearly 100,000 people, including women and children, in Palestine in the past two years. The global powers remain silent despite their claims of upholding humanity, he added.

JU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof Mahfuzur Rahman called Israel a “fascist and terrorist state” and accused the US of backing its crimes. He urged the UN to play a key role in stopping such violations and ensuring Palestine’s liberation.
