A major cultural event is set to take place for the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Lisbon, Portugal, with popular singer James of Nagar Baul scheduled to headline the ‘Lisbon Bangla Live Concert-2026’ on July 26.
The concert will be held at the venue Lisboa Ao Vivo, starting at 5 pm local time, according to organisers. James is expected to perform a selection of his well-known songs, offering what organisers describe as a memorable musical experience for the audience.
Excitement is already building among Bangladeshi residents in Portugal, with organisers saying the event is expected to be the largest Bengali music gathering in the country to date. The concert is being organised by Casa do Bangladesh and Notícias Bangla.
A press conference and dinner event were held on April 26 at Liton’s Turkish Grill in Lisbon to formally announce the programme. Community leaders, business figures, cultural activists and media representatives attended the event.
Organisers said the participation of an internationally recognised artist like James is expected to strengthen cultural ties within the diaspora and bring a sense of Bangladeshi cultural presence to the community abroad.
